What data I collect

When you get in touch through the contact form on this site, I collect the name, email address, and message you provide, and phone number if you choose to include one. I don't collect payment or financial details through this website.

Why I collect it

I use this information only to respond to your enquiry and, if we go on to work together, to discuss and deliver the project. I don't use it for marketing without your separate consent, and I never sell it or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

My legal basis for processing this data is legitimate interest: responding to an enquiry you've initiated is a reasonable and expected use of the information you've given me.

How your form submission is handled

Contact form submissions on this site are processed using Netlify Forms, a feature of Netlify, the platform that hosts this website. When you submit the form, I receive an email notification, and the submission is also stored in the Netlify Forms dashboard for this site until I delete it.

I review and delete form submissions from the Netlify dashboard roughly every 3 months. Until deleted, this data sits on Netlify's infrastructure, covered by the safeguards described below.

Who else processes your data

To run this website and business, I use the following third party services, each of which processes some personal data on my behalf as a data processor:

• Netlify (hosting and contact form handling)
• Google Workspace (business email)

International data transfers

Netlify is a US company. It participates in the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so transfers of your data to Netlify's US infrastructure are covered by this framework, which the UK government has approved as providing an adequate level of protection. If that framework were ever invalidated, transfers would fall back to Standard Contractual Clauses, another government approved safeguard, as set out in Netlify's Data Processing Addendum.

How long I keep your data

I delete contact form submissions from the Netlify dashboard roughly every 3 months. If our conversation leads to a project, I keep client contact details and invoices for 6 years after the work is completed, in line with HMRC's record keeping requirements.

Cookies

This site does not use cookies and does not run any analytics or tracking tools.

Your rights

You can ask me to:

• See the information I hold about you
• Correct anything that's inaccurate
• Delete your information (though I may need to keep certain records, like invoices, to meet legal obligations)
• Restrict or object to how I use your data
